Description
Andy Factor’s multiple names encapsulate the story of his life. Born in Germany and named Adolf, with the Jewish name Abraham Josef,
he became André when seeking refuge in France and finally, Adrian, known as Andy, when he came to Australia.
His happy childhood in Falkenstein was shattered when Hitler came to power and the family escaped, first to France and then, in 1939,
to Australia. A talented artist and musician, Andy managed to pursue his passions through the difficulties of escaping the horrors of Europe
and then beginning a new life as a refugee in Melbourne.
His story, told by his daughters, is a heart-warming account of a rich and passionate life.
