Description
Kathy Reisman was born in Budapest, the eldest of three girls and the keeper of her father’s secrets. Saved from the Auschwitz gas chambers at the last minute by an ‘angel’, Kathy joined a work-camp in Frankfurt, was liberated in Dresden and returned to Budapest to discover that she was the only member of her family to survive. Fulfilling her father’s wish, she went to Israel and joined the Hagannah as a nurse. Then to Australia in 1960, with her husband and two children. Her story is one of miraculous escapes and extraordinary courage.
